Simplicity and elegant gestures are the overall goal. Ironically, these characteristics are quite difficult to execute consistently and are often a result of simplifying a complicated concept through a process of self-editing. The t-shirts below were achieved by abandoning the silk screen and attacking the t-shirt straight on with the paint. There is an element of risk involved since there is no way to ensure an accurate, specific, or even successful result. The handmade aspect is intriguing as is the uniqueness of the t-shirt design that could never be replicated exactly.

Vintage Pattern Greeting Card awarded “Today’s Best” on Zazzle, May 23 2008
This simple pattern was inspired by old marble games for kids. In French it translates to “jeux de billes” which loosely translates to “marbles kit”. The greeting card sells for $5 and is fully customizable…you can add or remove text, change the background color, and even play around with the positioning of the design. Not much information is available surrounding this series of photographs by clownish of a clown traipsing around Washington D.C., but it’s worth a look. Interesting stuff happening in DC.
